Little Frog Game is... a little game, about a little frog!

Jump around through 3 varied stages to collect flies and beetles, while avoiding enemies and hazards along the way!

And don't forget to stay hydrated - froggy will slowly lose hydration and can refresh in small pools of freshwater throughout.  But watch out for pits and dark saltwater - saltwater is no good for frogs!

Use the froggy tongue to grab hard to reach collectibles, or activate tongue flingers that will send froggy flying onwards and upwards! Collecting all 5 beetles before finishing each stage will let froggy go to a special bonus stage. There, froggy will find a big delicious dragonfly waiting at the end!

Additional Notes

Short and sweet, Little Frog Game is a simple platformer game created over the course of several months in Godot.  All assets were all created by myself (music, SFX, art, etc), with some special thanks to some great tutorials, as well as all the friends and family who have supported me along the way.

I hope to continue the adventures of little frog in a more robust game in the future, but for now I hope you enjoy this bite-sized adventure!

This game was great!

I was able to have a lot of fun playing short but thick!

The game wasn't difficult, and the background is really warm!

The system is really cool, too, where you can survive only if it comes into contact with water! It seems like a short but perfect game

Thank you for checking it out :)  I appreciate it!

Cute little game, Linux version is much appreciated. Would like to hear the design thinking behind having a lives system though. That seems to go against the otherwise relaxed nature of the game.

In my mind it was maybe just to give a reason to collect flies? The game began very spontaneously. I had a bit of classic Kirby/etc in my mind as well which typically have lives systems, but I do think in retrospect it wasn't a great call. Being my first (very short) full game I am sure there are a lot of obvious missteps haha.

I'm slowly working out ideas for a more fleshed out sequel and I will not be keeping the lives system, would rather it be a more chill experience.

Regardless, thank you for playing!

No problem.

This is a very cute and fun game, and a great source of joy today. I played it twice in a row so I could get all the bonus stages.

(+1)

This is the demonstration that Godot is NOT a toy! ;-) Great game!!!

(+2)

super super fun game!!!!

(+1)

Super fun! Water mechanic great idea and those birds lol, love them. Music just sets right mood. Sometimes could not see the level below enough to know if spikes existed.

(+1)

dude, that is an amazing idea. Love the game

(+1)

Such a fun game! Played a little bit to show off, I find this super duper fun! I adore the fact you need to find water to survive and dang those pesky birds!

(+1)

Great game! Lots of fun.

(+1)

Everything is amazing: the art, the soundtrack and the gameplay! Kudos to the devs for creating such a fun experience!

(+2)

The idea of having to go in puddles to maintain your frog alive is amazing.

And the music.. Just incredible

(1 edit)

Just found the game in a folder named "videogames" on my computer.
Just love it!!!! Apparently I already commented on it but just wanted you to know that I would totally buy it if there were more levels.
The game feel, the animations, the ambience... everything is perfect. keep working on it!

(+1)

Very cute and really fun to play, I love this little frog already!

Goodness, thanks so much! I'm glad my little game brought good vibes your way.

It'll be a while probably but I do plan a more proper / longer game as a sequel one day.

(+1)

Great game! I appreciate the change in the music when you go into caves :D

(+1)

Very good platformer, well done !

(+1)

An adorable and quick game! Very chill vibes.

Is the main character French?

(+3)

ADORABLE! I especially love the music change when you go underwater!!

(+3)

Thank you!  It was one of my favourite little features to implement, but I'll have to make some longer underwater sections next time so its not over so quick.  Thanks for playing!

(+2)

Incredible work Jam!! I love the music, adorable pixel art, and the level design is large and free to explore. I had a blast playing through this game (twice) and I know that I need to go back and play at least one more time so I can 100% this title!

Can’t wait to see what you come up with next!

Thanks a lot for giving it a couple playthroughs.  I appreciate it!

(+1)

Very nice vibes in the game! I really liked the tongue pull :)

(+1)

equally parts cute and fun. I really like the idea of these "inverse" water levels. I think the tongue mechanic has a lot of potential for cool mechanics

(+1)

Thanks!  I agree the tongue could be used for some interesting things, hopefully in an possible sequel I can flesh out the mechanic more.

(+2)

Great songs.

(+1)

nice little game with a nice little frog in it

(+1)

I really like the style!

Thanks very much!
